President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and director of "Avatar", James Cameron received the Global Home Tree Award

Jakarta - Detik - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and director of "Avatar", James Cameron received the Global Home Tree Award. They are considered to contribute to promote the field of environmental protection.

SBY received awards represented the Consul General of Indonesia Subijaksono Sujono in Los Angeles, Thursday, April 22, 2010, to coincide with World Earth Day the 40th. Thus release received from the Consulate General of Los Angeles AFP, Friday (04/23/2010).

According to organizer Richard H. Greene, SBY receives award for his efforts in forest planting activities, especially related to reduction in the deforestation process (reduced deforestation), forest fire prevention campaign and Indonesia to plant 1 billion trees every year.

Yudhoyono said in a statement delivered Subijaksono convey that all efforts by Indonesia in the preservation of the environment is a form of shared moral responsibility to preserve our forests (our home tree).

While organizers Richard H Greene underlined that Indonesia is a country that is very important in the greening effort / saving the earth. Indonesia, he added, has one of the largest forest in the world and also represents one of the countries active role in improving forest conservation and the environment.

Meanwhile award winning director James Cameron related services in raising awareness of the world (raising global awareness) of the importance of protecting the forests as the lungs of the world through his movie, "Avatar".

Attending the event TSB Hollywood figures supporting the environment, among others, Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Billy Zane (Titanic), Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast n Furious), Joel David Moore (Avatar), Susy Amis Cameron (Twister and Titanic), etc..
